Why Choose Us
Mental health awareness is not just a trend. It’s the idea that mental health should be discussed more openly and treated with the same importance as other types of conditions. This includes both physical and mental illnesses.
Mental illness affects many people, but it’s one of the least prioritised areas of healthcare. This is largely due to stigma and lack of awareness about mental illness. What’s more, mental illness can affect anyone at any time, so it’s important to be mindful of your mental health and take care of yourself even if you don’t have any symptoms or diagnoses yet.
At Mental Health & Life, we are dedicated to making mental illnesses known to the general public—not just in Liverpool, but everywhere else we can reach, as well. And it’s our commitment to mental health that makes our courses so impactful to those who take part in them.
Mental Health & Life’s founder, Richie Perera, started this organisation to help make mental health more widely accepted. This came after Richie failed to be properly diagnosed for his own mental health issues. As a result, he went through many years of his life without proper treatment.
Today, Mental Health & Life exists to make sure others suffering from mental health issues don’t go through the same thing that Richie went through.
